On one end, producers improve the quality of their lives through transactions that ensure they receive fair pay for their work; on the other end, our customers will also be able to help improve the quality of life for individuals with hearing and speech disorders through caring and high quality services. This is the wonderful mission of The Center for Hearing and Speech, a nonprofit organization based in St. Louis, and this month's recipient of our Giving Back Days Campaign.

By 1969, the Center developed the School Screening Program to provide hearing and vision tests for area students. Now nearly 100 years later, the Center is an established and unique facility for audiology and speech-language pathology, serving more than 15,000 individuals annually. Here you have more impressive statistics:
In 2016, 15,325 children and adults were served by their charitable programs. 90% of speech-language therapy sessions were provided through financial assistance. 88% of hearing aids were provided through financial assistance. 82% of in-school hearing and vision screenings were provided free of charge.
Currently, the Center for Hearing and Speech provides four key services and financial assistance.
Audiology. The Center's audiologists evaluate, diagnose and treat children and adults for hearing loss and auditory processing disorder. They provide hearing aids specifically suited to the individual clients' needs and perform attentive, ongoing care to guarantee clients have the best outcomes possible.
Speech-Language. The Center's speech-language pathologists (SLPs) provide therapy to children and adults with speech and language disorders. Every client receives individualized therapy based on their specific needs.
School Screening. The Center's School Screening Program provides simple - yet necessary - hearing and vision checks for preschool and school-age children throughout the community. The Center's professional screeners identify children with potential issues, so families can pursue more in-depth testing and treatment. More than 12,000 students have been screened by the Center at 117 partner sites throughout the St. Louis region.
Industrial Hearing. The Center provides federally-mandated hearing conservation programs for businesses throughout the Midwest. Their technicians test employees who work in high-noise environments with professional follow-up counseling and care from our certified audiologists. With 45 years of experience and state-of-the-art technology, they provide the highest quality mobile audiometric testing to more than 25,000 employees annually.
