*Hogla or Southern cattail (Typha domingensis, family: Typhaceae) is an aquatic tall grass growing in cluster, attaining a height of 3 meters. Stem is simple or terete. It grows abundantly in Bangladesh and is used as a material for baskets, cushions and placemats. It is a sustainable material because it is a fast-growing, renewable resource that is harvested locally, minimizing carbon footprint.
