Giving Back Campaign Kickoff

I love this quote and I try to live my life keeping this in mind. I heard it again at University of Missouri - St. Louis's Commencement when I graduated with my MBA in 2013. Zee Bee Market is, at its core, a Social Enterprise that aims to support impoverished artisans through the sale of their handmade and Fair Trade products.

I also believe our mission should not stop there. It should extend to those less fortunate than us right here in St. Louis. While we've partnered with Heifer International , Global Mamas, and Partners for Just Trade in the past and have raised funds to support their work, I feel we can do more in our city.

I'm very proud to kickoff our 2015 Giving Back Campaign! It's really simple. You Buy, We'll Donate

We are partnering with Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis during our February Giving Back Days.

From February 10 through February 13, Zee Bee Market will donate 15% of total sales to HFHSL.

Buy your Valentine a Fair Trade gift at our store or online and support affordable housing in St. Louis at the same time! Won't you join us?

Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis (HFHSL) believes in a world in which everyone has a decent place to live. In 28 years, HFHSL has partnered with more than 350 families to provide simple and affordable housing in St. Louis City and County.

Local families in need can AND will break the cycle of poverty and build a financially secure future. No profit mortgages allow the families to spend money where it is needed most: on food, education, and medicine. Studies show that decent housing and homeownership, improves a child’s behavior, health, and academic achievements, increases job prospects and civic engagement and benefits the local economy.

In addition to paying a down payment and a mortgage, each HFHSL home buyer invests a minimum of 350 sweat-equity volunteer hours into building or rehabbing a home and attending educational and skill-building workshops. HFHSL homeowners are teachers, health care providers, and returning college students determined to achieve homeownership and create a legacy for their families.

Through safe and affordable housing purchased through HFHSL, we can transform a community, strengthen the local economy, and ensure future generations have the opportunities they deserve.

This February, give a gift made with love to someone you love and support the great work of HFHSL. Join us on social media and share this with everyone in your network.

Can't make it to our store? Shop online on these dates and we'll include this on the total sales. Alternatively, consider making a tax deductible donation to HFHSL. Visit

A Million Thanks and I'll leave you with another inspiring quote.

Greetings, I see that you are a new member of the Fair Trade Federation. We have been a member for years. We only work with artisans in Guatemala. We have a beaded jewelry group that sells wholesale and can make anything that you would design but they have their own designs too. You can see a bit of their work on our website at You can work directly with them so that their is not a middle person. If you want more information, please let me know.
