  • Made in Peru
  • Materials: 70% baby alpaca fibers, 30% silk
  • Dimensions: 76 in. L x 16 in. W
  • CARE Instructions: Alpaca fiber is a naturally an anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and odor-resistant fiber, so your alpaca items probably don’t need to be cleaned as often as you think. Hand-washing is the gentlest method of cleaning an alpaca garment with mild liquid detergent like baby shampoo. Be gentle handling it to avoid wrinkles and distortion. Place the garment on a dry towel and reshape (do not hang to dry). Lay flat to dry, away from sunlight and direct heat. If the garment is wrinkled after drying, steam it lightly. Dry clean is also recommended.
  • STORAGEIf you need to put your alpaca garments away during warmer months, give it a good clean first following the instructions above. Use lavender bundles (the chemical moth balls will do as well) to keep moths away. Keep in a shirt box, clean pillow case, clean paper bag, or cardboard box, never in plastic! Alpaca clothing should be folded rather than hung to prevent stretching and distortion.
Note: The term “baby alpaca” refers to the category of the fiber, not to the age of the animal. However, given that an alpaca fiber grows coarser over time, it is logical to assume that baby alpaca does come from younger alpacas (up to 2 years of age). Alpaca wool is hypoallergenic, so this scarf is ideal for those with allergies or sensitive skin.
