Small Word Soapstone Heart - Natural

Each heart is hand-carved from soft kisii natural soapstone, then etched with inspiring words: Believe, Courage, Dream, Gratitude, Inspire, Love, Namaste, Peace, Serenity, and Wisdom. Color variations should be expected as natural soapstone comes in shades of cream, gray, pink, and light brown. We cannot guarantee we will have all 10 words in stock at all times but will do our best to accommodate requests. Sold individually.

Soapstone is mined from great pits in the area surrounding Kiisi, Kenya. The mined soapstone is then delivered to carvers who carve sculptures from the natural stone. Once carved, the craftspeople smooth rough edges of the soapstone with sandpaper dipped in water and polish the piece to a high gloss. With every product you purchase, you are helping these artisans have employment, educational opportunities and medical care.
